Hungary is really famous about its cuisine let’s just mention meals - such as gulash, paprika chicken, etc. Now we would like to tell you more about one of the most famous drinks of our country… Pálinka.
Pálinka, the traditional Hungarian double-distilled fruit brandy is made of various kinds of fruit and does not contain any additives. A popular saying in Hungary says: what can be used to prepare jam can also be used to produce Pálinka.
The excellence of the final product Pálinka is guaranteed by way of using high quality fruits. The fruits harvested in the optimal maturity ensure the complex flavor and taste of Pálinka that characterize the original fruit.
Pálinka, the oldest beverage of Hungary has played an important role in Hungary’s gastronomic tradition for centuries.
In the 14th century, Pálinka is referred as „Aqua vitae reginae Hungariae” (the Hungarian queen’s water of life). At those times, people drunk it as a medicine, not as an every-day beverage.
In the last centuries, distillation process has been improved to a level of art and profession.
