Budapest Pálinka and Sausage Festival 2012
The 6th Annual Pálinka and Sausage Festival is again situated in one of the most beautiful places of Budapest, at the Castle of Buda between the 4th and 7th of October.
More than twenty pálinka (a type of Hungarian brandy) distillers and renowned sausage makers participate at this unique and very Hungarian gastronomic event where 10 sausage manufacturers, and several wine and cheese-makers will have their fine goods on display as well. The festival offers a combination of the best in pálinka, great food and entertainment. Visitors to the festival will have an opportunity to be the first to taste this year’s new pálinka distillates. Sausage and pálinka go well together, so be sure to visit one of the sausage stands and sample their homemade products, such as Gyulai and Csabai kolbász. Each year the festival welcomes a guest country. In 2012 Mexico has been invited to participate and visitors will have a chance to sample Mexico’s national drink, the tequila.
